Escape Segue

It's time for some R&R, and yes, this beautiful place is right in our country. Who would've thought this would be a few hours' drive from the the usual Ortigas and Fort area.

Sweet Treats

Server was down for a few days.. which explains this (very) delayed post (in addition to the usual stalling). Anyway, here's a treat for the eyes and your taste buds!
Customized candy at your disposal. Twisted candies: add a bit of a flair to your usual hard candy. Each design has their own distinct and original taste, texture, and color. Their flavors vary from mint to chocolate-y, you name it! They even do multiple flavors in one candy design, perfect for party favors and giveaways.

Milan, Italy

It's hard to fit 3 days worth of Milan-goodness in one blog entry, and even more difficult to narrate everything we did. I'm not in the mood to make a long entry anyway so I guess the photos will have to do. Will try to make a more detailed article on my next travel post. Here's the top 3 sights we visited:

Da.u.de Tea Lounge

Da.u.de (pronounced as da-you-deh): traditional wellness for modern lifestyles. First time I've encountered a legit tea place in Manila. Their menu includes a wide range of tea infused dishes and drinks, very interesting indeed. When my friend told me about this I just had to give it a try.

Bistro Filipino

My newest entry after being idle for 10 days: Two of the best Filipino restos are located at the Fort: Cafe Juanita and Bistro Filipino. I've heard of Chef Laudico before so I was ecstatic when I heard he opened a restaurant in Fort Bonifacio. The Bistro Filipino is an unconventional restaurant that recreates traditional home-cooked Filipino food, turning them into world class dishes!
The main dish was the highlight of the night. A 200g Wagyu Prime Cut Steak with a special sauce and sweet potato croquette. Just reading about it from the menu made me crave.

Burger Project

What can I say about this Burger heaven in Maginhawa? The first time my friends took me there I immediately loved it! I'm usually not the one who'd crave for burgers but theirs would be an exception.  Customized burger was a great theme, wherein you'll be able to adjust the add-ons, buns, meat and sauce according to your preference. They also have the tofu and vegetarian burger for those prefer to eat healthy.

Yabu: House of Katsu

My friend and I had late lunch at Yabu: House of Katsu last Monday. Despite arriving there around 2pm, the place was still full. The restaurant was a lot smaller the last time I've been there but I remember making reservations earlier just to avoid the line. No wonder they had to extend by almost double its size. We were fifth in line but we didn't have to wait long to be seated.

Ristorante Roma

A ristorante can probably be spotted in every corner in Rome. Everywhere you look fresh pasta, pastries or gelato in every flavor possible could be seen at the display window. It's hard to spot the difference between each of them. Besides the fact that most (if not all) are called Ristorante, they all offer similar menu items.

Case Craze

With the smartphone hype nowadays, it’s almost impossible to not see someone using either an android, a blackberry or an iphone. Probably the most desired, since the release of its first model back in 2007, is the Apple iphone. A revolutionary gadget that changed how mobile phones are perceived and had been the benchmark of smart phones ever since. Apple competitors are having a hard time keeping up with its sleek design, wide range of downloadable apps, and impressive camera. (though i must say there are close seconds :>)

Even Ugly Girls Can Have Sex at Will

My first text-heavy entry: Mo Twister

You might heard of him as the Philippine Genius made known by his downright rude attitude even in public radio. His outspokenness, while refreshing, hurts his image especially with the media scrutinizing his every move. Despite his reputation, I still think he makes sense, and his ability to articulate his thoughts without fear of being judged and criticized is somewhat impressive. His podcast kept me sane during those long hours inside the plane or bus whenever I travel. The episode with Carla Humphries as his guest would have to be my favorite. They do their usual routine, answering questions about love, sex, and relationships from their callers. And, as expected, his advice did not disappoint. Here's a preview:

Borough

My friends and I decided have our monthly dinner at Borough, Ortigas. Despite its location, people still visit this place, so something about it must be good. Mom's milk and cookies is what I think put this place on the map, which I find odd since its literally just milk and cookies.
