Abe Restaurant

Straight after Style Origin, we headed to Abe (ah-beh) to have dinner. The skies got gloomy and rain was about to pour so we just opted to eat somewhere within the vicinity. The place was pretty packed since it was around 7 when we went there, but we managed to get a table for two.

While browsing their menu, I read that this place specialized in Capangpangan food. I'm not familiar with Capangpangan specialties except for their longanisa, which made me more interested to try out their dishes. I also noticed the old black and white photos on their walls. It gave the restaurant a homey vibe which match their home cooked style meals perfectly. I also discovered that Abe was kapangpangan for "friend".

It took them a while to serve our food, but I don't mind since the staff were friendly. We tried one of their popular dishes, the Pinaputok na Pla Pla and the Lamb Adobo. Pretty good filipino food at affordable prices but nothing special. I still prefer Cafe Juanita over it.

  7. Many people choose fine dining restaurants for a special occasion, so the food must not disappoint- in either selection or quality. You don’t need to feature a huge menu, but it should be interesting, offering unique items that patrons wouldn’t find at any other restaurant.
