Al Presidente, Rome RIP-OFF

An inviting restaurant situated a few steps beside the Fontana di Trevi (and our hotel), this restaurant is nothing more than a tourist trap waiting to rip-off customers. The menu posted in front of their restaurant offers affordable priced dishes, but the friendly waiter would present "specials" that are outside their menu which costs double.

The service was very professional, from our initial waiter until our dessert server. They attended to our every need, although this may be part of their scheme.

"complimentary dessert"

The food was okay, nothing special but highly overpriced.
We were expecting a 300euro bill but instead, we got a poorly handwritten breakdown of the check (which was impossible to read btw) worth 800 euros. The charming staff and crew conned us into paying 350 euros for a bottle of wine plus the rest of our dinner. My mom insisted on complaining to the police but my dad refused since he didn't want our trip to be ruined. Our mistake on that part. What an awful welcome to our first night in Rome.
