I feel like I spent more time inside the plane/bus/train than actually exploring Europe. :| We experienced a series of unfortunate events at the very start of our vacation, including delayed and missed flights. Nonetheless, we managed to keep a positive disposition despite it all. Anyway, I think it's only necessary that I dedicate a blog entry about it, this is a food/travel blog after all.

Stacy's
Being in Stacy's reminds me so much of Sonja's at the Fort. The pastel colored/50s theme made the place feel so homey! We arrived around 1pm and the place was relatively empty. The waitress immediately served us our appetizer while she patiently waited for us to order.
Mouthwatering pastries were displayed beside the bar and near the cute pink fridge.

Korea Garden
Took us around 2 hours to get to this restaurant which I heard serves really good Korean dishes. One of the premier Korean Restaurants here in the Philippines, the Korea Garden (or Secret Garden, as I call it) located in Jupiter street in Makati, has certainly stood the test of time.
When we arrived, we were already starving that all we could think of was placing our orders and eating right away. Luckily, the banchan (kimchi, radish, dried anchovies, togue) were served immediately followed by the Korean Beef Stew, which I think is one of their best sellers.

Galileo Enoteca
Tucked away in the streets of Mandaluyong lies a quaint establishment that serves great food at an affordable price. The dimly-lit and cozy Galileo Enoteca is such a perfect date spot. The concept of having a wine cellar for a restaurant to create an Italian feel was clever and unique, I must say. This Italian wine library not only provides an intimate ambiance but they also serve the best pasta.

Holy Week-end
My cousins spent the weekend here to celebrate our graduation, at the same time it was my cousin's birthday as well. I thought of heading out, but as her birthday falls on Good Friday, every establishment would be closed. Despite this, it was imperative that we still did something to celebrate. Thursday, we managed to find time to whip something up in the kitchen despite us all being newbs with baking.

Blast from the Past - 3 part post: May 2009
Beverly Hills
After 15 hours of flight, we finally reached our destination. We only had a week to explore the 3 cities so, on the first day, we immediately roamed the streets of Beverly Hills. First stop was Sunset Blvd, then drove pass by Rodeo Dr where we saw huge houses probably owned by famous celebrities. Not much to do there but stroll around and visit shops. On the second day we went to Universal Studios which, in my opinion, was more enjoyable. I was taken by the city but I'm not so sure it's a place i'd go running back to visit.

Blast from the Past - April 2011
Managed to take a day off to get out of Strasbourg and went to a town called Heidelberg. Located in south-west Germany, this highly populated city lies in the valley in the Odenwald and is among the warmest regions there.
We first visited the Rizal Ufer, a park dedicated to our very own Dr. Jose Rizal. Aside from the bronze Rizal shrine, the Neckar River and spring flowers could also be sighted which provides an incredible view.

20 before 30
20 countries before 30, my new goal. So far I've been to 9.. which leaves me needing to explore 11 more before 30. :|
I'm now starting a private photo journal wherein I could paste cut-outs of pictures that represent my goals. I placed it in my mini notebook where my eyes could rest on it several times a day.
In conjunction with this new challenge, I also downloaded travel apps and included TravelBuddy.com on my browser tab faves.
Northern Lights, how I long to see you.
